Giving it a go

Post by Bill Rehm » Mon Mar 08, 2004 10:56 pm

Hi all

After just having my car repainted and a nice new tan top installed I've
been thinking about wanting to improve the condition of some parts
(seats, wheel rims, carpets, etc) on my 91 BRG tan leather, etc MX5.
Been checking out the "for sale" and "stuff" ads and reflecting on
wanting to improve/change the above mentioned items. Looking for anyone
who is prepared to realise that a slightly more worn leather seat, or
different rims, etc isn't going to significantly alter what they can
realise in the sale price of their MX5 (in other words the parts are
worth greater than the whole). Anyone interested in an exchange with a
few $ thrown in?
PS I live in Auckland

Regards
Bill

Bill,
Who did your paint job? Can you recommend? Looking to do the same
sometime soon, so would be grateful for any info on what to expect...
how best to go about it... etc.

What he is saying is "who painted your car . Accent ? and what sort of a job did
they make. It seemed pretty clear to me . Only too happy to help :)

Sorry Ken, was very tired last night and it wasn't until the second
email in addition to yours that I realized what you meant.

Car looks great. Most of it, not all was repainted with the remainder
getting a cut and polish. I would recommend Greg to everyone in
Auckland!

Hi Bill,
I'm glad to see you have got it all back in order after your experience with
some of our low life.

regards

Eric

Some lovely kids popped up my driveway last night and slashed my roof so
that they could steal my gear knob.

Thus, anyone got a spare soft top (Black) in good condition that they
would like to sell, or can you recommend someone that may be able to
repair it.

Would love to offer teenage scalp as part payment, but didn't catch
them.

Thanks much.

Unfortunately no one has responded to my interest in wanting to
"upgrade" rims, etc with used stuff.

Just returned from Al's Upholstery installing the new tan top. Bless all
of you DIY who could do a top yourself. Personally watching Al perform
his magic in record time I can't see why anyone would want to invest
time installing a new top themselves - Al's a real pro!

Hi

I had my MX painted by Bandon Street Painters in Hamilton. They have done a
few before so they knew the ropes. They did an excellent job and were very
reasonable (I think) I stripped the car down. It is really great to have a
like new looking car.

I'm looking to get my original mags painted or maybe polished. Any clues on
where or who to get this done by.

Hi Don, get the mags painted at the same place as your car - Bandon St
Paint and Panel ask for Steve, I have used them in the past on Don
McLean from Autoway Services recommendation and found them to be great.
