new topic; Remove my name?

Post by Ian » Sat Apr 15, 2006 11:30 am

Richard...

You have enunciated (oops) my thoughts entirely, and those of many other list
membes, I suspect!
Remember its only one or two who offend, plus those who 'rise to the bait'.
I guess if everyone asked themseves "is my post MX5 focussed" before hitting
the send button, this site would be a better place for the genuine enthusiast?

Totally agree Richard (you're on track ) , ... it's becoming a MX
Coronation street now .
I have been thinking in investing in a separate computer for the MX5 emails
with a larggggggggggge Hrddrive !!! ( I rather fill up my tank many timers
for that , and Zoom zoom zoom)

Couldn't agree more, Richard. Someone already suggested this
I think, but why don't the people concerned simply banter
back and forth to themselves, not the whole list. The rest
of us are REALLY, REALLY not interested in your personal
aggro... Likewise, those with trivial return remarks (could
take the same route and reply to each other rather than the
list; no offence intended!! I guess if it continues, only
the bickering parties will be left on the list anyway.
Allison.

new topic; Remove my name?

Post by Badcat » Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:28 pm

hi richard.
i've not entered this fight until now
i've stopped engaging bill, as it just encourages him.
the problem i now have is although i divert all bill's email to my
trash folder, half of the regular mx5mail is replying to him or
talking about him.
and, this is exactly what pumps his ego.
this list has become "the bill rehm show" due to our inability to
stop him posting in my opinion.
i've stayed subscribed as i have gained a lot of help from the list
members, and met some fine people, but the balance of reward to
irritation is close to tipping for me also.

Hi guys
as entertaining as it is, I for one am (once again) tired of getting mail upon mail of bitch fighting and arguing.
It doesn't show the club in a good light and its a bit pointless really.
How about we follow the lead of other MX5 forums around the world and you add "NMC" to the end of your subject title so that those of us who aren't interested in your command of the english language can block delete?

Just a thought.

Cheers

I am with Ken.

I am only a new member (5 months) but in all my life I do not think I have
read so much rubbish in so short a period of time.

Members such as Bill should be banned from this list, we do not want to hear
about your great knowledge of the English language etc. Get a Life and let
the rest of us correspond about things that this list is designed for -
MAZDA MX5 CARS.

I am seriously considering having my name removed from the forum, perhaps I
will wish to be included at a later date. In all honesty, my reasons are the
ongoing strife, bickering, politics, and seemingly endless discussions on
very small matters that diviate so far from the original topic. My e-mail
had dozens(100's) of messages, that were simply a waste of time to open,
read and delete. I am most appreciative for the genuine opinions offered to
my questions and do not want to see the forum become as 'gastapo' like as
the 'miata' forum, but it seems we could stay a bit closer to the value of a
site like this.I very much would like to stay with the forum, provided it
can be focused on helpful and meaninful dialog, including humor. I have
actually learned a lot off the site, it's just sifting through the mountains
of sand to find one gem thats tiring. Whats your thoughts guys and gals am I
off base?

sorry for the all caps! I went to Auk. for a few days and cameback to 5 pages of 'thanks', 'see you there', glad your car got fixed', 'oh really?'... plus Bill and the politics. It took me hours to sort through all the nonsense. I enjoy some of the funny stuff, 'hair dryer joke', and the banned ads, but there is actually a topic we are supposed to be remotely tied to.

Agree wholeheartedly think that if more people endorse this thread it
sends a clear message to others who feel they can use the forum for
personal grandstanding and petty bickering delete messages from the
few who are doing this and refuse to reply to their baiting and it
denies them exactly what they want an opportunity to provoke.

them anymore.
