See below for the lists' general consumption. Hopefully it will not be
blocked based on some "technicality"

Yours faithfully
Bill

RISK OF LIFE

To expose feeling is to risk exposing your true self
To place your ideas and dreams before the crowd is to risk their
rejection

To love is to risk not being loved in return
To live is to risk dying
To hope is to risk despair
To try is to risk failure

But the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing
The one who risks nothing, has nothing - and finally is nothing
They may avoid sufferings and sorrow, but simply cannot
. Learn
. Feel
. Change
. Grow
. Love

Chained by certitude, they are a slave, they have forfeited freedom
Only one who risks is truly free

Hey Bill

Do you happen to know who wrote that? I use a very similar version but it's
author unknown, and it would be kind of nice to have a name to credit it to,
or is is a generic one, modified a million times over?

The Dilemma:

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk rejection.

To place your dreams before the crowd is to risk ridicule.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk
nothing.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.

He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or
love.

Only a person who risks is free.

Cheers

Sorry Mr G, I can't recall when I read an original version which came to
my attention many, many years ago (approx 15 years I'd say). I re-wrote
my own version back then (as per what I forwarded) to use to facilitate
the personal growth of my private clients, though I have found
periodically an application for it with corporate clients/situations.

Admittedly I have personally used it as a cornerstone to how I (for
approx the past 15 years) have lived my life, which also incorporates
three other core criteria:

* I always speak "the" truth (as opposed to "my" truth)
* I consistently demonstrate the courage of my convictions
* I live life on terms that prevent being exploited or becoming a
victim

BTW, Sunday Services are held at my home starting at 9:30am. All
denominations are invited and welcomed, and NO 'collection plate' is
passed around. Lol, lol, lol, :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hi Dave...
Just whip down to your local para rubber outlet, they
have chemical hose which is black with a green stripe
on it, only a few bucks per meter, just try and get the
size of the nipple as there are a couple of sizes.
The "T" can be got from mitre ten or similar... just
use a garden irrigation T from those sprinklers you
bury in the ground.(Cheaper than getting a t from
repco)

Thanks for that link Keith.

As someone who has sailed 1/2 way round the world, I neither recall but
most certainly embrace the last 3 lines (when 'at sea' of course).

When on land: refer back to my three core criteria ... :)

'Consistently' yours
