new battery

Post by DaveR » Fri Mar 24, 2006 12:52 pm

Hi Folks

Just had the new toy serviced at my local garage. Got a clean bill of
health - except for the battery. It's a non-sealed unit. Looks like
it's been leaking a bit. Will have to get in and clean the bodywork up
in the boot and paint it. I'd like to put the correct type in. Is
there a choice of brands? Where's the best place to go in ChCh?

They put the car up on the hoist when I arrived so I could have a look
underneath. Looks nice and clean and original. No sign of rust, oil
leaks or panelbeating. :-)

Thanks

Dave

new battery

Dave...

I think the original Mazda battery (Panasonic brand I believe) is the way to
go..expensive, but less hassel in the long run...
Canterbury Mazda would be my first port of call...they have excellent
discounts to ChCh MX5 owners club members and are extremely supportive of
our local club.

Cheers, Ian

If you have a look under previous threads on the MX5 site you will see
that the subiject of batteries and types has been discussed recently. Have
a read there and see if this is helpful.
