JDM Bose Band Expander

Hi, I have a 2007 Mazda Roadster with the Bose System, I want to install a band expander in this car because the frequency range cannot pick up New Zealand stations. Would this band expander just plug into the areial and run? Or does it require something else, I've seen other band expanders with red wires and some without
