Changing the 2 din stereo to a 1 din

Post by Shermio » Tue Nov 07, 2006 9:14 pm

I will be changing out the stock 2 din stereo to a 1 din unit, but was wondering if I could just buy any 1 din pocket that will fit in the hole left by the 2 to 1 din operation?

Anyone have experience?

Im going to Hong Kong for a holiday so it'll be car parts shop till I drop :D I'll be bringing back a truck load by the looks of my shopping list :D

The factory original just pops into place and is held there by plastic lugs, no screws needed and there realy isnt anything to attach too.

Hey thanks Nigel, I will try and pop the OEM one out and have a look see before my trip... I had a look at the factory pockets and I wanted something with a spring loaded cover so it would still look like it came with the car and try to match the silver as close as possible, the head unit Im going to fit in it is also silver and will have an aux in for portable players...

Cheers for the info :D
