Hey guy's
Have a 93 NA8C with a knock coming from the rear suspension or drive line ,
seam's to do it as it loads up when leaving an intersection then again from 1st to 2nd & again up into third , haven't noticed it when changing down
will also do in when going over large bumps @ low speed (ie rail way lines)
have checked most of the bushes & cant find any excess play any where
is there something common that plays up in the rear of these things

Suspension Knock ?
Have new adjustable sway bars & new links ,
Dont think its an exhaust mount , would expect it to vibrate all the time or even if just revving the engine ,
Engine is standard so im not running any big horse power
Has anyone ever had the universals or CV's play up

CV joints can be easily checked by turning the steering to full lock and driving in a circle (both ways) as the CV has to work hard it will knock all the way round. But that’s the fronts.
For the universals on the back maybe jack up the car in gear and try to turn the rear wheel by hand and see if it makes a noise due to excessive play. Then try it out of gear for a rough universal. As the car is jacked up it will work the universal hard so should sound.
I know on the front, the ends an after market sway bar can knock on the shocks, not sure about the back.
Maybe even check the bushings on the sway bar to make sure they are the correct size and there isn’t too much play? After that, no idea.
May I ask where you got the sway bars? And which ones you used (Brand/Size)?
Along with what shocks/springs?

Suspension Knock ?
Yea sure
Srings are Kings Springs from Stocks (I dont think the spring rate is right for this car tho)
Shocks are KYB also from Stocks
Sway bars are Whiteline from Shock absorber services in Manukau
also used new factory sway bar links
24mm adjustable front
16mm adjustable rear
When i purchased the car it was sitting on adjustable suspension witch had come with the car from japan , but it was to low & way to hard so i ditched them in favour of the set up its running now .
& I must say im very happy with the way its sitting .
