Towbars

Hi Sal. I'm very pleased to have fitted a tow bar to my NA, got it done in Christchurch in 2001 by Blackwell Engineers after seeing one in Dunedin on an Otago member's car. Have got plenty of use out of it with various-sized trailers ever since - loads of topsoil for the garden, delivering gazebos t...

Re Manuals

there's a guide to putting on stripes?
I suppose if you put them on width-wise the car slows down - or
corners/parks better?

Changing petrol

mind you Grant my best ever trip was Clyde to Christchurch in one day on
one tank, 550 kms - top up due to weather, no luggage rack, so the car was
as aerodynamical as it's ever been.

Changing petrol

I spent $450 on petrol during the last trip South, only bought 98, best milages were in the North Island on BP Ultimate, 476kms on one tank. South Island mileages were shorter trips, frequent stops etc. I think Mobil has a slightly lower octane, didn't try Caltex. got a free tank yesterday of 91, the...

I have to agree with Chris on this, pick up any 4x4 magazine and you'll find hundreds of dedicated enthusiasts who don't like the way their vehicles are maligned because of bad drivers.

Hi Chrissy - just driven back from Christchurch, 2758 kms in 6 1/2 days, had the fog lights on most of the time : it's not the ones in front that pull out that worried me, it's the approaching buggers who pull out to overtake and forget to get back in their lane! World Record unedited footage

MessagePerhaps someone should ask Mazda to approach TV3 and State Television for the unedited footage - I'm sure we could mix it and put it on a DVD or VHS tape to be sold through the club, proceeds to charity? I'd buy a copy...haven't seen myself on TV this week.

just a quick question or two -
when you start the motor do one or both of your fans turn on?
and, does your aircon work?
Last time my car had your symptoms the aircon pump was dead...

and welcome to the list - have you joined the club yet?

We ran out of zoom going down Vincent St the other day - thought I'd broken the accelerator cable, puuled over and pooped the hood - cable was fine, but the accelerator pedal was on its side : broke the bracket the pedal bolts on. Spare wheel

Anyone have a spare wheel and tire they don't want? I'm ditching my spacesaver to make room for a subwoofer in the boot, but want to try mounting a real tire on the luggage rack before the Christchurch trip.

And how was the quiz night? Sorry we couldn't make it.

I now have a car with a winking headlight! It's hilarious! You get so used to having both lights pop up, there's a momentary surprise that you think something's pbroken - then you remember. The only problem is the autoelectrician (Limnda's brother) forgot to write down the steps he took : all I know...
