Sweet...so if the compensator already lies at right angles then don't alter the cables as part of the handbrake adjustment! Something I will keep an eye on in the future.

I personally wouldn't adjust the cable adjusters by the callipers unless I had access to a brake machine as you will be purely guessing as to the correct balance. In both NA & NB manuals that I use there is not any reference to this procedure as part of the handbrake adjustment.

Then if your handbrake still doesn't hold {like my race pads don't until they get warm] then your rear pads may be glazed/worn or in need of replacement.

Don't worry about the hex bolt coming out..thats normal, just put it back in and wind it in until the wheel locks then back it off 1/4 of a turn and then do the same to the other side.Take out any cable slack on the handbrake lever so that you have a few clicks before it locks the brakes.

Or you could drill a tiny hole in the key and then wind in a small long screw and slowly extract the key??? just kidding!..but it may work :D

Otherwise off with the door card and out with the lock and see if it will dis-assemble..from memory I think it might!

I have been told that any welding of brackets for braces may require you to get a cert! Something to watch out for :(

I have been told [By Bridgestone tyres] the tyre in a can stuffs the tyre anyway with all the goop that gets pumped in so you may go from just a flat to a replacement tyre.

Well for now I have ditched the idea of putting it under the boot unless I can come up with an easy solution to lift and hold it in place. I don't need the boot space so it goes back in where its easy to remove on track days and is good insurance because as the saying goes.. "its better to have it a...

Wet seats usually means leaking windows. Check that there is no gaps in the rubber joins as they can move apart, check for cuts and nicks, check that the top of the windows shut parallel and impress upon the rubbers slightly. You will always get a little bit of rain dripping on the seats when you open...

Put the tyre in the passenger seat and get the passenger to catch the bus?

I'd forgotten about this mod as I had seen it a while back so now that I don't have a rear muffler I have just given it a go. Problem is fitting it so that it stays tight. The wheel is almost too heavy to lift in place without a jack so I used a chain to pull it up from the inside of the boot but it...

It didn't have the element...not that we really missed it but hopefully will get a heated one this time round.I'd say to wire one in to an NA should be easy enough...earth one side of the element,12volts to the other via a wire.switch and fuse that comes on only when the ignition is on.

Vinyl, not original manufacture but was a good quality one without heated window that we bought off a guy who worked from home in West Harbour a few years ago [via TradeMe]

Insurance needs quotes on replacing our slashed soft top so has anybody in AK had one done rececently and who does them now?

I know Trottskies do them for $1100.00 + gst supplied & fitted with heated rear window.

Cheers
