Are normal car batteries unsafe in MX5?
What about the old Mini's they had lead acid batteries in the boot for yearrrrrrrs ! You took the words right out of my mouth...and as an ex mini owner for many many years I can say we never had any probs there either. I think it is more likely you could get corrosion rather than explosion, and I do...

Soft-top cover (was OK to leave hood down?)
$50 ? that sounds more like it David. At that price I'd be happy to buy one
and if it doesn't fit when I get the roll bar in I won't be too upset.
Philip Lawson phil@bayarea.net in the US of A has a 10AE cover he no longer
needs.
10AE ? What is that?
Cheers

OK to leave hood down?
Unfortunately I did not get a hood cover with the car..have looked about for one, they are hard to come by at a reasonable price... Anyone know of any at present? I guess really I should just bite the bullet, after all - money spent will prolong the life of the hood eh :-) Joan H (Paekak - sun is ou...

OK to leave hood down?
Common sense tells me it is best to leave hood up if car is stored for any length of time.. My MX5 is one of a family of 6 cars so is not used daily and can sometimes go long periods without a run.. :-( Leaving the hood up will stop creases and cracks I hope! Hi Mike,
We spoke to a bloke from Wanganui who makes small plates. Think they were
stick on ones.
"Andy's Screenprints & Signs".
If you don't get any joy close to home you could try him - Andrew Deighton

Any idiot can go flat out in a straight line with plenty of horses under the bonnet. The true test of skill is how fast can you go around the corners. On most windy roads in NZ one won't get anywhere near breaking the speed limit.. But in saying that - the most fun is definitely on the track where y...

How to Set Up a Separate MX5List Folder
Yes works well for us too Mark, I have my MX5 folder and G has 3 or 4 Alfa and motorbike related lists all going to their own folders. Some folks are using Yahoo or Hotmail & other web based emails - not sure it would work with them...they are a real drag for email I reckon anyway, you have to open ...

Having just had a look at Miata Forum to see how it actually works...I still prefer the MX5 List as it is. My inbox is set up to send all MX5 mails straight to their own folder and this works just fine for me. My vote - leave things as they are please! And thanks zorruno I think you do a GREAT job! ...

Overheating
Overheating is sometimes related to a malfunctioning thermostat that doesn't open when the engine hots up... Think we've been here before, but my experience has been that rarely do thermostats fail in the closed position - more often they fail in the open position, which means the car that never rea...
