Yep my 97 NA has an un marked gauge which only indicates oil pressure (i.e. no actual pressure markings)

My car takes perhaps 5-10 seconds for that gauge to move up to its 'usual' position....im not sure if that is normal.

Well got a switch from MX5 mart....but it appears the loom length is different. Is the same for all post 93 switches? (i.e. the earlier switch I had in there that failed had a longer loom which went the length of the centre console to join up near the gear shifter. The new switch only has an inch or...

Bit of a 'fail' for the ad though...The one thing that makes this car different to all the other Mx5's, the engine, and no photos of it......nor any description about the rarity of the car (but instead, a whole speal about how good the car yard is)

Yeah I have the earlier one in my car (?) so it has obviously already been replaced once. Ill definitely check the window runners etc when I install the new switch in case that is causing premature failure (although in saying that, the windows didn't seem like they were struggling when they did work...

Im assuming that the lower switch is the later one? In that case I actually have an earlier switch installed.....but as noted the contacts are too far gone to just clean.

Not necessarily- Cars wont roll simply due to cornering forces, they need to be 'tripped' (i.e. by a verge, ditch etc) and this can happen even at fairly slow speeds....of course if you overwhelm the lateral grip going around a corner, you may put yourself in the position to be tripped, but it isn't...

My car is a 97 NA

There are switches listed on MX5mart but they are only listed for the 89-93. What changed?

Ressurecting an old thread I did a massive road trip on the weekend (nearly 1000kms!) around the Eastcape and the master electric window switch decided to only put the window down on the passenger side (really fun since it was raining!) I managed to close the window by disassembling the console on t...

Yeah well I worked out that the MR2 has cost me the purchase price in repairs over the year and half I've owned it! Ouch! Hopefully the MX5 is a little cheaper to run (although Ive already had the window winder switch fail on the weekend which meant some roadside repairs in the rain with the window ...

Re: Ramps

As i see it the ramps are way too short to go from 50kph to 100kphh for the average driver{excludes MX5ers of course}! I disagree in part. The 'average' car is more than capable of doing it. The 'average' driver less so (pressing a bit harder on the accelerator is quite a hard task afterall ;)) It ...

New Mx5 owner

Hey Guys- Thought I better introduce myself :) I'm Tim from the Mount. I've just bought an immaculate 1996 NA8 M-Edition and am really enjoying it so far. The M-edition means the factory addition of a hardtop, tan leather, full Jasma exhaust, 16" alloys and LSD (?- could someone confirm- I haven't b...

For posterity, what is the correct method to avoid frying the coils?

Unplug the igniter/coil pack at the fire wall connection?
