Anyone for a sequential shifting MX5
Actually there have been some pretty average Alfas over the past 20 years. Its a brand that rests mostly on its heritage, without delivering much of substance or excitement any more. Phew luckily ours are all over 20 years old! I have to agree with you though- we don't like the modern Alfas much eit...

I have to admit Alfa156 selespeeds do have a bit of a reputation -the word from an expert alfa serviceman is they must be serviced and recalibrated every 6 mths ( or 3mths if you drive demandingly!) I guess this could well apply to other vehicles with selespeeds too...very rarely to you get somethin...

Yep often its the switch end..if Mazdas are like Alfas they will have a slack switching system prone to wear out...can be fixed rather than replaced by anyone who knows what they are doing and a few simple hand tools ( not me but Graham ;-) But if the spray cleaner does the job all the better! Cheer...

Indeed a very bad show Bill and makes me very reluctant to take my MX5 into
the big city (I'm a Kapiti Coaster!)
I wonder who you are insured with though as usually if its your first claim
for the period you should only lose a step of your NCB
Cheers Joan

Thinking of buying a second-hand homologated roll-bar which is currently up for sale, so I can use the MX5 on the occasional track-event. In discussing the item with the seller, he mentions the matter of the height. The MANZ regs require there to be a certain minimum clearance between the bar and th...

No, not the Monty - that debuted at the Montreal World Fair 1967. Now if you want to see one of these cars driven in anger, there is one racing in New Zealand (well it will be once the repairs are completed from the last race crash!) It is bright green and was brought over from UK by returning NZer ...

wouldn't have a clue as to what kind it is either

how to gain a NZ racing license
Hi there Daniel, There are 2 sorts of racing licences generally available, the first is for dual sprints and can just be applied for and off course you will need to hand over many dollars. For a full racing licence you do need to sit a test. If you have not done any racing I would recommend you star...

Spare Relocation Experience?
Nice to hear some info on "Fix a flat" from someone in the trade; especially the bit about a surcharge to clean it out when you take it to the tyre shop! Like Lou my question remains..what do you do with the flat tyre after you change it for the spare..it won't fit under the car will it nor in the b...
