Doing it both ways is not a bad idea Before the supercharger cools the blower down and reduces the clearances (which are normally huge) so improves efficiency and often picks up a psi or two And into the inlet manifold reduces the charge even more Good atomisation and correct amount is the key to po...

Yeah - until we can get a good supply of E85 at the pumps I don't think there's any real need to start looking at it as an option. Hopefully one of the suppliers ups there game and makes it a readily available fuel Hey Mattapo, any reason why you decide to change to a different ECU for the setup? I ...

Yeah Oddly enough it's still running mint Got a real slight miss in the top end at 20psi Got some Kawasaki ZR11R Coil on plugs to fit, so that should sort it Those motorbike coils are lightyears ahead of cars They didn't fit properly, as they didn't connect to the sparkplug, so I pulled it to bits t...

Damn that's some serious power.
Without the wheelie bars and wing, it looks almost stock
Looks like they're still using the standard coils too.

If they had turboed it, it would be a no contest
Should be pretty close though with a Supercharger and 200hp ATW
Look forward to seeing the 2nd part
Good choice on the ECU they used,
And love the expression on the owners face when he floored it for the first time - made me laugh

I think the rod bearings will the limiting factor in the BP engine Compared to something like the 4G63 they're a lot narrower, which increases the load per square inch I know the Mazda Rally team were having the same issue when running 25+ psi Changing the bearings per session. I'd say 450hp at the ...

TD05 16G Excellent turbo, comes on boost at only 1800 rpm, and flows over 350hp Dirt cheap too, cost me $320 brandnew landed in NZ Is a Chinese one, so I was suspect of it's durability on high boost But it's been running 14psi for over a year, done well over 10,000k, about 12 trackdays, and it's sti...

Yeah, Have dropped the Rev limiter to 7000, no point revving it past that as the power is already dropping off. I'll wait till something goes wrong before taking the head off and having a look inside Am building a fully forged motor at the moment, with much lower compression, so thought this would b...

Standard Block - Maximum Reliable Power

With four spare BP engines lying around - I figured I'd test the maximum reliable power from a stock BP block. Been meaning to do this for a while - but as usual work commitments prevail. But had a spare few hours this morning - so fitted a boost solenoid and wired it up to the ECU in the old Turbo ...

Wilwood Big Brake Kit from GOMIATA for less than half that price delivered
Best $$$ I ever spent on a vehicle
The D2 suspension is just as bad.

Yep Tunerstudio works will all versions of Windows
But you need a Window 8 Specific USB to Serial Cable to get it to communicate (Thanks Microsoft)
Jaycar electronics can supply one - But check to make sure it's compatible with Win 8, Most of the cheaper ones aren't

I'd check the coolant sensor signal on the megasquirt tuning software
If that's not getting a signal it will default to -40'C and just absolutely pour the fuel in.

Under the Music Industries theory - then I should have to pay the NZ Police Infringement Authority royalties because I can make a MX5 do 250kph. Whether the owner chooses to do it or not Just typical Yank mentality of going for the quick buck at the easiest target. Heaven forbid anyone having to tak...

Intercooler too restrictive ??? Yeah don't know about that - Flys in the face of all research and conventional thinking over the last 60 years I've measured pre and post intercooler boost pressures on my setup and there's only 1psi drop at 18psi. Can do you a steampipe tuned length, crackfree guarantee Turbo manifold to suit the MX5 with a TD04HL turbo for $600 + freight if you're interested.
Just as good (if not better) than a Sinco manifold and can do downpipe as well.
PM me if you want some pictures

Try new plugs first - it could just be flooded, It's unlikely the ECU is damaged - they are very robust Next: Get Tunerstudio running Make sure you are getting an RPM signal when cranking If so, pull out the CAS, spin it by hand and see if you are getting injector pulse and spark. If you can hear th...
