Ive done a few trackdays in the Mazdarati. Only at Puke with stock 14s and Supercats, no other mods apart from a few braces. Will be good to see how much faster I can go with decent tyres and better brakes.

I love the track, even being the slowest car there is fun.

I'm pretty sure it is a non-turbo AFM. Will check the numbers with Mazda tomorrow.

Why not get an alarm? Never have to unlock your doors manually again. Or, if your ignition barrel is worn as well as the door locks, I can supply new locks and a matching new ignition barrel.

Another RX7 AFM thread...

I know there are dozens of RX7 AFM threads around, but reading them all only deepens my confusification. I have a S4 RX7 AFM. I want to put it in the Mazdarati, preferably with a reliable, step-by-step guide. I know that it plugs into the factory loom, and I know you have to fiddle around with the v...

Got it all sorted with a decent timing light. What a difference! Very noticable, has livened up the car plenty.

Yep, I have the gnd and ten bridged. Heading to a workshop after work that has a better timing light to try again. When advancing the timing, should the revs drop?

I use a product called Nite Shades by VHT. Still got most of a can left. It's yours if you want it. Just tell me your address and I will courier it to you.

Have run into an issue. The CAS is turned as far as it will go, but the timing marks are on the far right of the scale, close to the T. Any suggestions?
Angreal, from what I have read, the Na8 uses a different setup which is a real pain to advance. most seem to recommend leaving it alone.

Timing Advance

Hey all, going to advance the timing on the Mazdarati tomorrow, just wondering if it is worth advancing it to more than 14 degrees?
Cheers

State Highway 16, Kaukapakapa - Wellsford. Great road, not too much traffic on it either. Stop at La Padella if it's open for the BEST PIZZA IN NZ Woodcocks Road, just off SH16 north of Kaukapakapa (which, incidentally has the hilariously named KKK Pony Club) an amazing 27km stretch of twisting, tur...

Cheers, have got another cover, hopefully this one keeps a bit more water out.
Seats, console and carpets are out now, also have cleaned out the drain holes. Just waiting for another decent dump of rain to see just where the water is coming from....

Now that is a car that is crying out for a V8. Looks spectacular, a cheap and easy Ariel Atom. Someone who wants the feel of a motorbike without the likelihood of getting stuck under a stock truck....Does it have a place to put things?

Thanks for the info. I'll check up the drain holes and roof seals tonight. Euen, is your repco cover grey on the outside and white on the inside?

Terrible leak

So, I took off the (rather expensive) car cover on Saturday, only to find both driver and passengers seat SOAKING wet, damp carpets and mold covering the seats, seatbelts, carpets and roof. So my first question, is where in Auckland does one purchase a decent car cover from? Paid in excess of $100 f...

I managed a...ahem "spirited" drive from Silverdale to Wellington. Filled at Silverdale, put in half a tank at Taumaranui, then about 3/4 of a tank in Wellington CBD. That was on stock wheels and tyres, average speed was 100kph from a TomTom GPS. Although at a track day at Pukekohe, I get 150km of r...
