Re: MX just staops at idle

Try searching on the miata.net forum.

This is a very active forum and I am sure this issue will have been covered there.

Auto Electrician Familiar with NA MX5

Anyone know a good auto electrician who is familiar with an NA MX5 based in the Manukau area ?

I am currently chasing an electrical issue and not making much progress.

Starting to think of plan B.

Re: Replacement Front wing

Try MX5 Mart (look up details via google).

They will probably have a good used wing.

+1 on the H4's. Fitted the same to my NA a few months ago.

My daily drive to work is in the dark during the winter. So after a few months of driving in the dark I am still pleased with the result.

Hello bgnz,

I completely understand your comment about the '89 - true to the sports car concept. I have a '93 for this reason, a hard ride, a bit lose, great steering, and loves corners.

Checked out a coolant leak today.

Pleased to find it was not the water pump as I was suspecting, a leaking hose only.

I did the seat back foamectomy to my driver seat and found it a great mod for a little extra leg room and lateral support. Didn't do the base as head room ok for my purposes (daily drive).

Braided clutch hose

Where can I find a braided clutch hose ?

I am about to change the master and slave cylinders and wish to take the opportunity to change the hose as well.

If available, how much ?

Thanks

Put the hardtop back on. A drive shows just how much the hardtop stiffens the car, definitely drives better with it on.

Changed the ignition timing from the std 10 deg to 14. Makes a noticeable difference, well worthwhile.

From what I have read on this matter on several forums, Cibie are the best, followed by Hella.

I changed my OEM units for Hellas recently and am pleased with the marked improvement.

Cibie are not cheap, from memory the Hellas were about $65 each.

I had a similar problem recently. I had inadvertently unplugged the socket from the centre dash switch (where the dimmer switch would go) on the lower rhs of the steering column.

Turns out the socket needs to be pro properly plugged in as doing so completes a circuit that operates the dash lights.

To answer your question, I get 400kms plus per tank full and this is mostly round town driving.

If I get heavy with my foot, it can go down to 350k's.

Longer drives gets 450k's plus.
