Where are the photos!

I started to do this with my alpine Amp once but ended up changing it to the wheel well with plugs to remove it quickly for motorsport.

Photos would help, but you could consider getting your headers ceramic coated, it really reduces underbonnet temps.

Info about bonnet heat shields can be read here on one of the Aussie forums.

There were 3 on Aussie Ebay a week or so ago.

There's also a metal "cone" that goes over the top of the filter that can be bought from the states. You can then duct cold air into that from where ever you like.

I'll try and find the link.

It depends on the ambient temperature, engine condition, quality of the fuel etc.

If you're going to run 14" then i'd stick with only 98 fuel and keep a bottle of "Octane Booster" in your boot incase you get stuck having to fill up with lower grade fuel.

I've sat in Car Related real time chats for years. I think you need to recalibrate your yard stick to international specification. :P It's not a forum, it doesn't intend to be a forum. So why compare the two? (I’m a moderator of several forums, and a member of this forum, I can appreciate the import...

..I'm guessing then in the majority of cases that that the market for people who want real time chat about MX5s probably suits what is installed i.e. a nice full featured java client that just runs when they click a link in their windows based browser. People with more technical knowledge, who real...

If you don't want to get java you could download an IRC client like Mirc, connect to one of the Oz.Org servers, then join #MX5.

But if you can't be bothered to wait the few minutes it takes to install java, then all of the above might be too much work for you too.

Its not over here in the West yet.

BP supplies all the fuel to W.A., I know they spent $30mil on the upgrade to produce U98.

You guys are only just getting U98 in New Zealand?

It's also a "cleaner" fuel apparently, so less crap to clog your engine.

I remember hearing them being about $400 a few years ago.

Ours is still going strong since 1998.

I've heard of 16 year old MX-5 batteries still working fine.

MX-5 / Miata Based Chat Room

This is a trial phase for an MX-5 / Miata related Online Chat. I've chosen to use the Userplane chat rooms because they're easy to use and FREE to use. They aren't as complicated as IRC based applets / programs. There should be sufficient instruction on the webpage, but if you have any further quest...

Eric, no worries I'm not contesting your opinion, just stating my own. Driving fast (all be it NOT flat out on public roads) is all about being as smooth as possible to not upset the balance of the car. You should have more control with a manual. You also have more control over engine braking and th...
