Now you've got the half cage and want to do track days DONT just think tyres you MUST get competition pads and better brake fluid, otherwise you wont get the best from the car. Are you kidding me MX5's don't brake for corners, it's a momentum car dude  :D But yeah you're right, the list is l...

A good coolant flush & maybe new hoses.check & re-gap plugs as required...just a good service opp.
You could get real flash & remove the HLA's to inspect & bleed them.

A flywheel as light as yours should make a noticeable improvement to your throttle response and acceleration.
I'd suggest an issue exists with your engine or engine management post repairs.

Taupo track 3 track day 27th September.

A mate is hosting a track day on behalf of a small car club next weekend & has asked if I would offer the last couple of spots to to you lot. Track 3 is the small 1.3km 'old' circuit. The cars are mostly in a MX-5 speed range with some a fair bit quicker and some maybe a touch slower. All are road r...

I just picked up a 4 owner 1990 na6ce for $NZD3500. Its NZ new, has full owner & service history with original logbook & owners manual. Factory original with hardtop & has done 154,000km. They had asked $4500 on trademe and as I watched it the asking price was lowered. I haggled them down a bit to t...

Any progress here, Ben?

I'm looking at fitting a similar set-up to what SLYDIT has described to my 'lil red na6.
Brakes, clutch, suspension & tyres to cope with the extra oomph too.

I understand early NZ NEW cars never had them anyway and 10 - 15 year old cats will be blocked to a certain degree because of our crappy fuel so the car is always going to run a little more freely without it. Sounds like a good excuse to play to me. :) That's what I understood yet my 1990 NZ new ha...

Well I checked them out and they are in good nick. I've asked the guy to hold them for me and we've agreed on a favorable price. The spring rates are 8k/mm front & 7 rear. Some research has shown they will be alright on road and rather excellent on track :D I will hold off on the anti roll bars unti...

Yea. personally I think they're asking a little too much for them. The are around $USD1800-2000 new in the states but these have clearly been out of their boxes a fair while. I have a mate in Tokyo looking at some parts but shipping can be a hassle.

Does the m

I've had a bit of fun reading back through the list archives hosted here to see my old posts. It seems odd that the archives are here if the two sites are not to be tied together, at least with some simple links.

Looks good. Did that cost you $1000? A few years ago on an MX-5 Club cruise around the Coromandel a guy in a Supercharged Sunburst Yellow Na6 flipped and folded flat like in those pics. Lots of people were talking about roll bars after that!

Coilovers v Adjustable dampers

There are a set of very good Cusco Zero2 coilovers on trademe at the mo and I'm very tempted to buy them. The standard issue spring rates from Cusco are 6kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear. I want to set my Na6 up for track days and hard driving but the reality is most of my driving will be on public road...

I have ADVAN Neova AD07 on my HP12 Primera. They are very good. Better than my old favourite, Goodyear GSD3's, no question. Damn near an R rated tyres similar to Toyo RA1 for grip and much better wear.
