HOWTO: Get your keys out of a locked boot (NA)

1/ Carry a spare in your wallet 2/ Don't leave your wallet in the boot Seriously, if you ever put your keys in the boot of your NZ model, and then the bootlid shuts, your stuck - because this model doesn't have an internal boot release latch. To unlock the boot, follow the following procedure : 1/ r...

Replacements needed for Yokohama DNA dB Decibels

I had a similar problem a few months ago, but couldn't replace the tyre immediately (4 month wait on stock arriving from overseas). however, a slightly smaller profile was readily available, so bought two and put them on the front. When you come to upgrade time, look for 195/ 16s and put them on the...

help! ARE MY WINTER TYRES TOO BIG?

Hey Glen, how long have you had the Toyo T1-R 16s? I got mine in 2006 , they still look brand new - except for the one that blew out on the motorway......which they cou;dn't replace without a 4 month wait.... so now I've got 205x16 on front, and 215x16 on back. a good spot is behind the driver's seat, vertical, on the pillar where the seatbelt hides. Depends on how far your seat goes back of course!

I'm going to buy an NA, what should I pay?

and ignore the obvious biased prejudices from "some" people :

don't buy a black one, they show the dust.

Blue ones are faster, and if you add stripes they go even faster! :)

I bought mine ten years ago with a leaky exhaust. Pit Stop in Grey Lynn suggested removing the cat along with the leaky bits, so I got them to put a 2 1/4 inch stainless steel pipe all the way to the back - it's still there. Slight improvement noted in power - something to do with less back pressure...

I'm amazed all the Mainlanders haven't bombarded you with direction on how to drive their favourite roads! If you drove non-stop you'd make it to Bluff and back by Monday morning, if you shared the driving. However, if you really wanted to see the country and enjoy it, I'd do this trip from Wellingt...

Nigel - great magazine as always! regassing aircon on a 89 na

I had mine regassed with R12 in 2005, thanks to a friendly mechanic and a friendly building airconditioning serviceman I knew. I believe R12 was to be phased out end of 2006, and all stocks were to be returned/recycled or something. RS24 is supposed to be more enviromentally friendly and more effici...

1/ paint your car and house pink.
2 / Request substantially lower premiums because statistically pink cars have fewer accidents, and hardly any pink houses burn down.
3/ Involve the Insurance Ombudsman and Fair Go!

it seems that during the transfer your excess of $300 was "updated" to a default excess of $1000 - I have this default excess on my car, also insured with State, as means to keep the premium low. Perhaps you can advise them they are in error?
