They changed the material to and the later NA seats wear very badly.Its hard to find decent ones.And the material is different if you cahnage just one seat.You could fit NB seats as they have the same mountings.

Also check for water coming in around the tailights and aerial.
The sills have 2 drain points taht also need to be kept clean.

Check the window is going up far enough.
Also seals tend to move apart at the centre join.They can be pulled back together.

Try cleaning the contacts in the window switch. They get gummed up and cause slow running.
Give the window mechanisim and slides a good dose of Silicone spray as well.
Check your windows not catching on a cable as they can come unclipped.

Dont use a stick on plate.The law will give you a $200 fine for "failing to display the registration plate issued to the vehicle".
I trim the edges of the plate down.Looks good and is still the original plate.
Or get one of my front plate mounts.

I replace roofs here that have been slashed by scumbags breaking into mx5's. I say to people with alarms ,wire it up so it doesnt lock the doors but is wired to the door circut. Stolen parts.

I just bought a stolen/recovered white 97 SR LTD from Auckland. The lowlifes who took it went to the trouble of removing the springs and then putting the struts back in. Also taken was the boot spoiler and brace bar from behind the seats. Must be someone with a mx5 as there no good for anything else...

Check the side/glass seals are sitting in the frame properly. Also make sure they are sitting tight together at the joins when roof is shut.You can pull them toward each other for a snug joint.

Most of the early NA belts were changed here when imported as they didint meet nz standards.
Autolive and others supplied belts and theres a number of different lengths Ive seen of the stalk.
