Doesn't the rust have something to do with wet cell batteries and no ventilation in the boot space? I think I read that somewhere. I know the original batteries were gel batteries and were vented out of that little white bung at the bottom of your pic.
I guess a plastic tray might help.

HKS filter...wet or dry?
Hi we just replaced the filter that came with Nick's car to another of the same HKS brand. The trouble is we're not sure if we need to 'oil' the filter. The HKS web site isn't very clear, and they don't appear to sell fluid that would be for that use. So: It's a dry (fresh from the packaging) green ...

Glen Munroe?
Does anyone know Glen Munroe? He used to own an MX5 in 1991, and was known for supplying body kits and tuning parts for RX7s. His car was used in an article and I'm trying to catch up with him. Any ideas, or if Glen reads this himself, please drop me a line at graemehakin@gmail.com Thanks Graeme H

Thanks for the offer of larger res pictures. Sounds good, I'll give you a shout at some point. Joining the club is not to everyone's taste, but I find that the majority of folk who do join manage to get a lot out of it. We're not all anoraks and tyre kickers like some other car clubs are reputed to ...

Excellent! Just send stuff to topdown@mx5club.org.nz It's great that folk like yourself who are technically minded have a place where they can share their experience. I realise the magazine isn't as direct or immediate as the the forum, but it still gives others a chance to see what's available and ...

Wow...excellent pictures! If it's ok with you, I'd like to use some of those at a later date (this next issue is a snowball run issue and I've got a front page pic) for the front page. I was thinking of running a photo competition at some time as most people have got pics of their cars hidden away i...

How do all. Nigel has at long last managed to unshackle himself from the chains of editing the club mag. I thought it was time to give him a break so i put my hand up...and here I am. Ok, so now you're all wondering where is this issue. Well...as I type, it's sitting in a box in the front room havin...

Stick on plates
Hi I saw an NB today with a stick-on front plate. I've seen a number of new Porsche with stick-on front plates. I know they're illegal (I guess if you can afford a Porsche, you can afford the $200 fine), but I would like one. I've just bought another MX5 and it has a new nose cone...the perfect plac...
