Bugga !! Good to know now. It does however make installing the Holden unit very straightforward.
Might grab another sub frame when I get back and knock up another one for sale.

It's been a while, ( been in the states for a while ) but finally hooked in over Xmas and sorted the Holden IRS for the NA. Even passed wof at testing station yesterday. Biggest problem I had which some of you will already know is the shock clearance on the axles. Because I used the Holden joints at...

I've yet to cut and weld a set of half shafts out of a independent rear end but I have done quite a few axles out of normal diffs. Haven't had a failure yet and some of those were in big cube heavy cars. Only one way to find out!
Will get some pics up in a couple of days.

Been a while but the car passed cert about a month ago and is all legal. Have been driving it to work for a while and is a lot of fun. Not overly powerful but certainly a huge improvement over the original. Haven't really given it a hard time because of the original diff so have put it back on the h...

Well its in and running. Had a couple of issues with my wiring skills, but after a quick visit from the auto spark she fired straight away. Very smooth engine. Few things to sort before the first drive but she should be ready for cert in a couple of weeks.

I did consider a few engines before choosing this one. The LS, UZ, even god forbid, a rover!! and to be honest if I someone wanted one built I would steer them towards the LS or UZ. The chev is 100 mm narrower across the rocker covers which would have made things much easier. The attraction towards ...

Next job on the list is the gearbox mount. Have welded reinforcing plates onto both sides of the tunnel and will use these to bolt up cross member. The original frame will then be incorporated into that member. After that its finish the exhaust (really tight on the drivers side), modify the power st...

Hi, new to this site and just thought I'd let whoevers out there know that I am well under way into fitting a early toyota 4v alloy v8 into a NA. Just got motor back from reconditioners and is mounted on the subframe. Engine bay is prepped and ready. Gearbox is W55, have had to fab a fair bit. Bell ...
