FYI, you're right. The Ace doesn't require certification or MSNZ Authority Card. Getting an importer is a right royal pain in the ass though, and will double the price of anything you can get made in NZ.

How do these things compare to the exocets you're also involved with?

Looks similar, with a similar amount of work involved. Slightly more expensive, but slightly more included for the end result...

That price is fantastic. I was expecting it to be actually around the same as the NC, but it's 10k lower...!

what?! so the NC for them is high $40k, and the ND is low $30's? Maybe NZ won't get totally screwed by this afterall. However, I do wonder if what he said about the UK and Australia being the only two COUNTRIES to have either engine as an option in a RHD configuration is true. I'd hate to think NZ m...

There's a reason the owner's manual says the NB foglights should be replaced by Mazda... broke one of the replacements... what a pain in the ass.

Yeah, that idle is so much fun. I'm at about 3500km on them at the moment since Christmas (when they went in). The idle vibration is almost all gone (or all the nuts and bolt heads that were loose enough to vibrate have now vibrated all the way out...??), but the shifter (and therefore the transmiss...

Is that actually the case? I know someone who increased his ride height for Christchurch "roads" and was required to resubmit for certifying. As far as I'm aware, providing there is a certain clearance (can't remember off the top of my head what that is!) between structural components and road, a ve...

Yep.

Engine mounts and some other random bits and pieces.

Bryan's pretty easy to work with and if you email him he's willing to "discount" stuff for import, providing it looks plausible. :p

Are you serious?

Only thing I've found about sway bars in the thresholds for LVV Certification was requiring it for upsized sway bar mounts, suggesting larger bars should be the ones considered illegal...?

In terms of gear shifting unicorn, engine mounts seemed to do the trick. They went in late last week. Amazing. But a fair bit of NVH to beat out of them. Regarding reverse: Yours is the 6 speed - same as mine, with the hard to the right, and then rearward action, correct? I sometimes find that's har...
