Out of gas by
donovan.brook, on Flickr
This was coasting along the northern motorway, about 500mtr from the BP, in a diesel, so system bleed if I ran it dry.
Manual says the tank is 67litres, put 67.59ltrs in, so obviously the Germans don't lie when they say you are about to run out.

Will take a photo of the bimmers gauge, I've run it out of gas twice now so I know where empty empty is.
The Germans don't lie about where empty really is, the mx5 can go quite a bit lower than the last tick though!

I've waited for the E light while ignoring the fact that the needle was well below the E line... Yep, I ran out :p

I managed to get down to my last 2.21 litres at one stage. Now that I know how optimistic the fuel gauge actually is, I've achieved normality and decided I don't need a fuel light.

Is what google says
To be exact, the NA6 is 45L and the NA8 is 48L (so that effectively means mid 93 onwards)
The Americans can't get their heads around an NA8 possibly being a 93! (which is why google is incorrect on this point and also that the fuel tank is 50L in the NC from mid 2005!)
93 1.8,intake/ex mods,Megasqirt PNP,torsen ,konis,GC coilovers,Nitto-01,cage,sparco seat,Schroth harness.

the '94 thing is just for Miatas.
All of the mx5s and roadsters got to be NA8s in '93 to get the enduro tank.

Yep. I have one of those '93 NA8s which is really annoying when trying to deal with American's. I just say it's a '94 to keep life simple

This. Had some American guy come into my old work and asked what year and he told me I should have gotten the 1.8. I told him it is and he told me I knew nothing... I then popped the "hood" and he ate his words.
Now I just refer to it as a 94 to save on retarded arguments.
