16" Wheels
Does anyone know where I might be able to get some 16x9 rims?
Can find plenty of 16x8, but looking to run 255's on the back so would prefer 9" if I can get them.
Planning on running 225 on 8" in the front and 255 on 9" on the rear.

There's heaps of options on auctions.yahoo.jp for 4x100 in 16x9 at much better prices than that.
eg:
work meister sr1: http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c423906532
watanabes: http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b152538154

you can get these purchased & shipped to NZ via garage tetsuya, mlracing etc.

Like the look of the work meister sr1, typical that they are the most expensive. Have just bought a set of 16x8 that look very similar, so if I just got them for the rear end, wouldn't look that much different at a quick glanceJunkwhale wrote:There's heaps of options on auctions.yahoo.jp for 4x100 in 16x9 at much better prices than that.

Seems my plans have been dashed, got a set of 16x8's in the meantime as I have a track day in April and my existing semi slicks are canvas on the 17's.
Ordered a set of 225's for the front and 245's on the back, and all was right in the world. Then get a call saying the 245's aren't in stock at the moment, and they won't have any till June!!!!
So at this stage have gone 225 front and rear and will have to wait till June. Have been poking around some other Tyre manufacture websites (mine are Toyo R888), Hoosier do a 245 semi slick (but the pic it looks more like a slick with a couple of grooves in it), as well as a 275/45 hmmm. Kumho have a 265/45 (would need a 9" wheel) but no 245.
Can't seem to find anyone else that does that size in a 16" everything else is 17" or bigger.

Me being the immense sucker for punishment that I am, talked to Platinum Wheels about the Hankook z214 and now the proud owner of a set of 225/50/16 for the front and 245/45/16 for the rear.
Problem is that I have already got me R888 225/45/16 and on the rims, so have to either try and sell them, or figure out what to do with them. Maybe find another set of rims and use them as wet weather track day tyres, since the Hankook are really more like a slick than a semi slick. Oh well it's only money, easy come, easy go. Hold on, let me re-phrase that, never come, easy go.
