Do people realise how many hot cars & hot %$&^%$@ there is at this event, surely a few more of you (girls) / guys wanna go do something unusual... we're always going on & on about shit like this, all talk?
This isn't a stupid frikken' track day, they're on 3-4 times weekly this happens 1 time yearly & takes a lot of planning.... imvho the event surely must be waaay to cheap but then we all know how much work the guys do & how much sponsorship they garner.
C'mon MX5 drivers lets see if we can out number the Porches, GTR's n 'Stangs etc this year that'd be awesome

Screw it, I'm in, paid today, I've been on two cannonball runs and the first snowball run they had. Been some of the best times I've had in a car, especially the snowball run on a run down to Taupo over two days.
First two times in my brothers VR6 with a meaty straight sidepipe and a V6 growling the whole way, 3rd time in my red MX5.
Doing it this time in my blue MX5, hope to see plenty of other MX5's there. Only dilemna now is roof up or down.. Hardtop looks better and is MUCH quieter.

What happens on Cannonball.
Well, you wake up around 5am, check your car's oil, water and tyre pressures.
Go pick up your mates and meet at the starting point from 730.
Hang around there for an hour or so, grab a coffee and something to eat. Check out the other cars that came to play. There will be lots of photographers etc. A great time to find your old mates from last year too.
A quick briefing and "stay safe" from the police and you're off on your adventure!
You'll get a "Mission Pack" which will have your route details and missions to accomplish during the day. These will include taking photos of your team/car at certain locations and challenges along the way. These may range from kicking a ball over the goalpost to swimming out to a boat to grab a "clue" etc.
The more epic your photos are the more points you score. Sometimes you get bonus points for doing things in big groups too. A good reason to drive together in a group (or a convoy of MX5/Roadster/Miata's even!)
This year your day will finish at Pukekohe Park Raceway where you'll have a chance to go for a spin on the track (bring a helmet and enclosed shoes)
After that the bar will be open and it's time to relax and think back on how awesome the day was.
Then, dinner, entertainment and prize giving
After that you're hooked and will be looking forward to doing it all again next year.

Gassed up & nothing left to do!
Thanks very very much yet again to 2low2c (guys a frikken' legend) - because of him my stickers are straight(er) than Angreals & so quite obviously able to generate far more speed, better turn-in plus obviously greater downforce - also I know my blower won't catch fire & my brakes will work nicely (always useful) - plus my handling & steering will be epic thanks again to the god guys Chad & JP from JP tires on Porana Road... can't believe how quick the alignment falls off perfect
Fast dirty piccy, look how straight that vinyl is ha ha
