Just a thought here, not sure how long you are thinking of holding onto
your car for, however, the removal probably wouldnt result in any huge
gains, just an educated guess,im no expert and even if the aircon doesnt
work, you may find it easier to sell the car with "aircon" either to the
dealer or private as at least the buyer has an option to fix the aircon
and you can say its "fitted"-always about options.

just my thoughts.
Cheers,
Gareth.

My last car, a mazda familia had aircon,it was 1500 4wd. now when i applied
the aircon in that, yes you could feel the car "kick" and it lost a little
power, the key point here however is that it never had power in the first
place. Now, my mx5 aircon doesnt work either, and not being in auckland i
have never decided to fix it(no motorway holdups),allthough i do miss the
demist in winter. If you have it off you do not lose power, and really
within the big scheme of things if you did it wouldnt be much more anyway,
the mx5 has always been a fun car to drive!
Now on the seals, you may all know this, i was told by an aircon guy to run
the aircon at least once a week even in winter, as the air is what
lubricates the seals, the common problem with aircon is the fact noone uses
it and the seals perish!

Yes i am pretty sure you can count on this. Its seems a given we aren't
talking about a 1970's care here.
