Turbo upgrade. Power train?

Post by Duncx1 » Wed Aug 23, 2017 4:15 pm

I am looking to turbo my NB 1800RS. I need to know how much power the factory power train will handle. It has (obviously) 6 speed box and LSD. Megasquirt say they can do it up to 350hp (300rwhp). Will I need to up-grade? Also, what would then be involved for Cert-ing?

Depends how the cars driven, if its launching on drag slicks you'll break stuff quick.

Having been in multiple ~250whp 1.6 mx5's i can say thats more than enough power, there is not much weight to get moving

No drag racing and no slicks. But I do have good quality tyres. It is my daily driver that will get a bit of a squirt now and again.... ;)
