Turbo time
Well, I picked up a second mx5.
TROLOL will be getting a 1.9 build next year.. However, the plan for the second mx5 is Boost.
I won't call this a build thread, because it isn't.
Aiming for around 200 whp. And more than anything aiming to do this over a weekend, preferably overnight, but a weekend is more realistic.
Will keep this thread updated with progress.
At the moment, turbo and manifold are sorted, the intercooler is being looked into, then ecu... Anything cheap that comes up!

As a general guide..turbo,intercooler,ecu,bigger injectors, bigger clutch, bigger brakes, bigger exhaust, dyno tune, low volume cert will be the bare minimum.MrGrey wrote:I would personally be interested, as I plan on going the turbo route next year. Any and all information shared is appreciated
Choice of parts depends on what you want to achieve but for high power and track days then factor in a bigger diff as well.
All you really need is...TIME-MONEY-and PATIENCE!

From all my Miataturbo.net reading, sounds like these are wise words!WideOpenThrottle wrote:As a general guide..turbo,intercooler,ecu,bigger injectors, bigger clutch, bigger brakes, bigger exhaust, dyno tune, low volume cert will be the bare minimum.MrGrey wrote:I would personally be interested, as I plan on going the turbo route next year. I also plan on going turbo next year, also gunning for 200hp out of my 1.6!
T28, RX8 injectors, MS with AFM delete, wideband, FM Happy meal clutch blah blah,...
Just need to select decent manifold / downpipe to kick start the project.
What have you gone for in this department?

guess you'll find out..Snapfrozen wrote:What turbo Chris? T25?
2Low2C has been really helpful. I will be doing this after a lot of discussion with him and other turbo gurus.
Megasquirt is a possibility, not ideal, but hell, whatever I can find for cheap
A step by step guide probably isn't needed, but hell it could be a bit of a laugh right?
