Really??? Think they have taken this a bit far, and when it comes down to it, only doing it because of some marketing wording.

Wow! Never liked the music industry and their lack of ability to adapt.

Always thought they were out there to make as much money as they could rather than promote music/bands/artists

Under the Music Industries theory - then I should have to pay the NZ Police Infringement Authority royalties because I can make a MX5 do 250kph.
Whether the owner chooses to do it or not

Just typical Yank mentality of going for the quick buck at the easiest target.

Let's not forget the fact the Windows Media Player, and iTunes are just as capable of ripping CD's and easily enough to transfer to other devices, unlike the car's media stations, which are pretty near impossible to get the music off them to transfer to something else.

This seems kind of silly, but who knows how the courts will interpret the law.

The Audio Home Recording Act seems typical of US copyright laws... dated and solely pandering to deep-pocketed industries.

It's non profit, because all the controlling parties involved in it bleed it dry by the board of directors, lawyers, and record companies, and strangley enough the RIAA has it's grubby little fingers in there as well, which is the organistation that is usually gun happy with the lawsuits.

Just wonder how much get's distributed back to the artist themselves.

Um... lol?

My only thought on reading this was shaking my head and thinking, "Oh, America."
