Some of you must have hobbies other than cars/photography.

Any musicians out there?

I own a Musicman Stingray Bass but unfortunately my playing ability is not in the same league. I used to fly small fixed wing aircraft with an aerobatics endorsement but no longer have spare cash since having a daughter and mortgage. Snow boarding, wake boarding and fishing also occupy my leisure time. I also find time to do Wing Chun, ride motorcross and road bikes.... Other than that Im a couch potato!

On the hunt for a new amp. Pretty anal about what I want, just waiting for it to pop up.

I had a feeling 4A-GE would know what a Stingray is. Its 1977 so Leo Fender NOT Ernie Ball.

I sang for a punk/metal band for about 8 years when I was younger.... a damn fine way to earn an easy $200 a night for going to parties, having people buy you drinks and have chicks hit on you :)

good times, good times

Gibson would be the last crowd I'd turn to for an acoustic - New or used.
Taylor used, not so bad - Japanese Takamine as well as top end crafters definitely worth a look.
My takamine D series is pretty sweet, really surprised at it, having come down from a larrivee d3.

Whoring my solid bodies.

Image

Homebuilt dave murray strat:
Basswood body, thinner than usual; satin black bunnings paint,
Kluson tuners because they are god,
Random tardme flame maple neck + fender sticker,
Allparts hardware everywhere else + Schaller locking strap buttons,
Custom cut pickguard to accomodate all the crazy shit,
DiMarzio super distortion bridge, PAF 36th neck, area 67 middle,
3 way switch (bridge, bridge + neck, neck),
Push pull volume - Neck series/parallel
Push pull tone #1 - Engage middle single coil
Push pull tone #2 - Bridge series parallel.

'60s classic tele:
Only original parts are body, paint, neck, tuners, switch ... bridge plate, and possibly the volume pot.
Tonerider hot classic pickups (4th set: Factory, dimarzio mini hb + area hot T, duncan vintage stacks, now these),
500k tone pot,
EMG PA2 onboard booster (9v hidden under pickguard),
Wilkinson saddles,
Big fuckoff frets (on a 7.25" radius lol) + bone nut.

Edwards LP custom:
3rd set of pickups - DiMarzio super D + super 2 (Factory was SD JB + jazz, then EMG 81's),
Faggy gold hardware swapped for nickel,
Kluson tuners replaced factory gotoh's,
500k mini pots,
Factory ebony board... Not much else can be done to it; think I'll leave it be for a while.

To come:
Tele neck pickup that looks like a tele pickup but sounds like a strat, aaaand one of these:

Image

... Because I think jade green metallic is fantastic.

Not pictured:
Small body fender acoustic (pink quilt maple),
Black Takamine D series w/ cutaway.
