importing a car from japan

Post by sprsta » Fri Sep 06, 2013 10:08 am

Does anyone have contacts in japan that are able to view/bid on cars at auction in Japan?
Or has anyone used any of the importing companies? which ones are better?

I would like to bring a new toy in and am planning to take advantage of the 20 year exemption rule

cheers

I am planning to spend about 8000 getting it here plus compliance on top. As far as I can tell, shipping alone is around 2500 or so

We have had this conversation before lol.
My uncle lives there and imports used japanese cars into NZ for a secondary living and knows a lot about modifications - especially engine mods and anything drift related :)
Did you want me to PM you his facebookses?

Otherwise, keis and paul will help you for sure.
Im seeing Paul this weekend, want me to talk to him?

Let me know how you get on, I'm wanting an FD myself in a year or so to join my MX5 in the garage. I was looking at importing since the ones in NZ are usually driven by munters.

Proving to be a little harder than thought - there are currently none on auction but we are researching local dealerships etc
