Quick Intro - Hi everyone!

Post by alex.from.spec » Tue Sep 03, 2013 7:47 pm

Hi everyone!

My name is Alex, I’m new to this forum so thank you in advance for taking your time to read this. Me and my friends are building an application to better connect and share among car enthusiasts like yourselves online, and would like your input so we can develop a product that’s relevant and one that can serve you better.

I just want to reach out and introduce myself. My business partner is a big Miata fan too and it would be really cool if we can create a product that can benefit the car tuning community.

Again, thank you very much for your time. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if you want updates on our product development.

Sincerely,

Alex

If he's willing to work with the MX community of NZ then he could be alright to keep on?

However, if you're just in it to make a living...

What beneifts will it give us?

And contact him?

A waste of time post if I have ever seen one.

Never mind.

He is making an app.

Or seems to be.

Waste of time.

Does it help my driving? Nope.

Does it make my car go faster? Nope.

My interest is 0.

The karma was my bad, I missed the minus sign.

Don't judge me it was late at night!

Hey guys,

Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot here. Please let me give you a bit more info and updates. I don't know much about cars personally but I'm interested in building an app that can help people, sorry if I sounded stupid and offended some of you. : )

We are building a web base application whereby users can log in and create profiles for their cars. It will be a very detailed and technical profile since this is aim towards more advance level car enthusiasts. By building this app we want to achieve three things:

1. Help user better keep track of their modifications, (e.g parts, dates, price, etc)
2. Better sharing/interaction between users since they will have a standardized profile with cool UI and can search specifically for other users that has the same parts/modifications.
3. Simply to just show off your cars!

Basically we want to improve your experience when working on your car by making it easier to keep track and share (and get help if you run into problems).

We are working with all car enthusiasts to gather their feedback. A demo version will be launch by end of this year. I've attached some screenshots of the profile page. Please let me know what you think.

Feel free to contact me regarding SPEC and thank you again for your time and help.

Have a nice day,

Alex

Don't be so negative guys :D

It looks like it could have potential Alex, if it's executed well.

Good luck with it!

It wasn't being negative. The first post made little sence and looked a bit suspect.

If it was explained a little better the first time there would have been no issue.

And I do agree with you , looks like it may have some merit.

Those screenshots are looking real nice. I like the idea of this actually, kind of like a Facebook for cars.

Ah crap. Should take my list of mods off I guess but I'm too lazy and the car doesn't stand out much until you look past the crappy exterior... That and the parts are only good if you're in the MX5 scene

Thank you guys for the encouragement!

Facebook for cars would be a good analogy but we want to keep the site more between the owners and their cars, so it's more of an online tool than a social media site.

Agree with your concerns about privacy and car thieves, that's something we will address by letting you choose what to share and what to keep private and will continue to fine tune that. With so much personal information online nowadays I'm sure it's a concern for everyone as well.

I'm drafting a marketing survey for the site to get a feel for the product and want to get your permission before posting it here so I don't get banned for spamming. : )

Thank you again for the responses. Let me know if you've any more questions/concerns.

Cheers,

Alex

Car theives will only use this as a shopping list if you are a muppet by throwing on a lisence plate and/or details on where you are specifically located. Speaking of mods and showing off your car here kinda makes it a shopping list too in a way. ^.^

I reckon its cool. The only place where i can keep count of the things i have done and bought is on the notepad app on my phone.

:)

License plates don't show anything these days.

If someone wants your car they want it regardless of what parts are on it. Or regardless of what parts are advertised to be on it.

Looks like a cool idea.
