Post by zorruno » Wed Jul 29, 2009 4:03 pm

Many models of MX5 have speakers mounted in the headrest of the seats.

See the following links for details of replacement, connections, improvements etc.

My set is like this, car has a premium sound system from pioneer when new that has a separate small cross over box. Even the front door speakers have separate high level tweeters mounted.

What's the best advice for a overhaul as it sounds crap!

I just did a changeover from old blown ones, using the info at http://www.mazda-madness.co.uk/2010/11/ ... -speakers/ - fitting was a doddle, as promised.

I couldn't easily find inexpensive 3.5" or 4" ones locally, but eventually settled for these (they end up mailing them from Aust., all up cost $41 shipped):

Sound is as good or better than the originals.
