Hope you all saw this programme, the MX5 came in second only to the 911, it
beat the ENZO,MCLARIN F1, JAG, LAMBO

The only person on the show that didn't like it was Steve Mcquens red neck
son
drive it like you stole it

It would seem a little hypocritical to me to drop the Aston Martin DB5 down
the list for being luxurious, having four seats, a few creature comforts and
being a GT car and then promote the similarly dated, equally luxurious, four
seat Porsche Carrera GT to first place.

So, if we scrap that result, what do we find in first place? The only real
sports car in the bunch! (well maybe we will let the E type in)

Oh my God Eric . another quintessential example of MX5 list
"objectivity" ! :-)

May I suggest you feel blessed that the 'puddle jumper' made it on the
list (which BTW, was mainly because it had resurrected world-wide
interest in sports cars)

In my opinion, there were only three 'sports cars' in the list (E type, 911 and of course MX5). The others were Super cars and GT's. But we must remember, the list was an American take on sports cars (apologies to any Americans on the list that love MX5's and therefore know a real sports car). How can you put a car in the top ten sports cars ever when talented drivers say it was fast in a straight line but didn't corner well - isn't great cornering and handling the whole point of a sports car?!

I'd reduce that to 2 - eliminating the MX5 - that should be good for
extending the thread to at least 50 responses! :)

Good on you mate!

Oh, BTW David, as I am a HR consultant permit me to ask: Does your
company have a policy (as most companies today have) of not using the
company's internet connection for personal reasons and to violate the
policy can lead to your termination, or are you 'the company'
??? :)

Thanks Chris for your response.

May I suggest you re-read my email: I asked a question, I did not make a
statement (and placed a smile after it as well). You would be surprised
at some of the draconian policies that still exist in some companies
here in NZ. Some defy common sense logic. Then again, I've always been
of the opinion that what is common sense isn't necessarily common
practice!

William
