MX5 racing greyhound

Post by Grant » Sat Nov 12, 2005 8:58 am

Just been checking out the Top Gear web site to see what is coming up in the
new season starting in a couple of days (in the UK). They race the new NC
MX5 against a greyhound as a test of its agility. Could be interesting.
Wonder when it will appear on Prime. The episodes do appear on the 'net a
few days after broadcast in the UK so might have to watch it that way.

VBH was absent when the show aired last week because she was out driving the
new MX-5.

You'd have to be blind to call her a dog, but should make the NC even more
attractive with her behind the wheel.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

That will have been the new improved Fifth Gear then. Perhaps that will be
in this weeks episode. Fifth Gear is certainly better with its new longer
format but still got a way to go to catch up with Top Gear.

When is this going to air?
I have never seen fifth gear.
I am keen to see a greyhound and an MX though.
Thanks
Colin

Check out www.finalgear.com
You need a bittorrent client to download the files. Each 1 hour episode is
approximately 350Mb and can take a while.
Fifth gear sometimes appears on TV1 Sunday afternoon motor racing show. The
episodes are a bit old though and in the 30 minute format. The newer
episodes are 1 hour (45 minutes with the ads stripped out). So far the
current 1 hour episodes are not being shown here in New Zealand though (or
any 5th gear ones for that matter) but are now upto episode 5 on UK TV and
available for download.
Prime have been showing the most recent season of Top Gear a few months
after screening in the UK. Finished here now though, last week.
The new season (6 episodes I believe) is due to start screening on the BBC
at about 8am tomorrow morning our time so should be available for download a
few days later with a bit of luck.
You can download the Torrentstorm client from here:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/F ... torm.shtml
to use to download the files when they are available.
There are many other bittorrent programs available but this is simple and
works well.

Hi All

Top Gear is currently shown on TV1 (BBC) in the early hours of Sat and Sunday morning - I think about 2:30am Sat and 5:30am Sun (or maybe the other way round). They were new episodes a while back, but the last few weeks have been older re-runs because the current series has finished (haven't got around to watching Sunday mornings yet to see if it's a repeat). My view is that Top Gear has now become more pure entertainment rather than informative - still good fun, though.

The version shown overnight on TV1 (BBC) is a 30 minute cut down one. The
full episodes are 1 hour long. The new series has just started on the
domestic BBC in England today. Treat it as a comedy show with cars and just
enjoy it.
