Found my now to me 1992/3 NZ new MX5 door speakers are giving ,e a good buz
since they are missing most of their paper cone supports - but looking at the
factory mounted ones it seems I will need to make up a bracket or plate to fit
new ones - guess this question has been asked before but do I simply tear the
old speakers apart or is their a simpler way to mount new door speakers?

Standard round 6" speakers should simply bolt back in on the original holes,
my Sony Xplods certainly did

reverse of removal - Easy as :)

Chris,
Have a look at the fusion range, they had some 6.5's a while ago
that fitted perfectly.

Just check the size. There are 6" and 6.25" ones out there. I think you will
find the 6.25" ones such as the Sony Xplods fit very easily. I had no
problem fitting some 6.25" ones in my 1992 car. Some multi driver ones have
the mid range and tweeter protruding too far out the front of the speaker to
fit behind the standard door grill. Check that also. Some Sony Xplod's I
have won't fit an MX5 for this reason. They did fit My Isuzu Bighorn though
and well worth fitting too.

Grant.

Hi all,
still getting to know our new 1996 Black Eunos Roadster which we absolutely
love! I left the parking lights on over night and of course the battery was
totally dead by the next afternoon, when we had to get somewhere in a hurry.
I tried to hill start it but that didn't work. Was wondering whether that
was because of the fuel injection or the immobiliser?? Our battery was so
dead a neighbour trying to help us with a jump just produced clicks from the
starter.
The AA guy said we still have the original battery which if is true is
really impressive. When replacing the battery do you try to get the
panasonic battery recommended or is there another sealed battery which is
equivalent??It was interesting looking at the AA battery guide for various
models of cars. The NA mx5s had an available battery model listed ($129) but
the same year Eunos Roadster had "see dealer"??? I thought they were the
same car!
Also, we have a fuse in the ABS position in the main fuse box. Does that
mean we have ABS? It's just that the other day I tested them and the wheels
definitely locked up and there was no pumping effect???
Cheers,
Peter
