The air conditioning removal was fairly straight forward. After having
the unit degassed by and auto air conditioners, it was pretty much
matter of removing the nose ducting and splash shield then following the
air con parts and removing in sequence.
Hi Chris, this is one of my to-do tasks. A couple of Qs...

Who did the degassing - and how much did they charge?
Did you find someone to take the old aircon system, or are you keeping
the bits?

Any other recommendations or tips (i.e. things you would have done
differently had you done it again...)

cheers

PS - from memory the americans are saying aircon can remove around
40lbs/18kgs, I'd be interested to see what you end up with weight-wise...

North Harbour Auto Air & Electrical 0-9-415 7025 degassed it - for a
cost of $25. Good for the environment and saves you getting frostbite
when you burn your hands with it (not a good look).

I had someone to take the Air Con - but I stuffed a pipe removing it, so
(sadly) into the dump it goes.

In regard to traps - with the steering I learn a true-ism - it matters
not how much you drain something there is always more fluid in there
once you lay on your back directly under it.

You Do need to ensure that you get as much fluid out as possible to keep
the steering reasonable, also you need to get the wheels reset - I will
email to this list the settings once I get them (they are at home).

Its heavy - 18kg could be a push - but I have been careful to take every
bolt and bracket - I will weigh and come back.
