Sounds like a great event. For those who couldn't take part for one reason
or another, what was the final score.

I thought I heard 294 announced at the event ...
And another "thank you" to all involved in arranging the event, plus all who
participated ... my 7 year old co-driver was delighted to take part. And
well done to Grant from Sunny Blenheim for his interview on TV3 - summed it
all up nicely.

Hi all from Sunny Blenheim (of course!). Actually I have to admit it's
rather cloudy today.
Just got home to over 250 emails to catch up on!
Had a great time, especially meeting a number of you there. What a great
sight, all those cars in one place.
Unfortunately didn't have enough time to have a good inspection of the NC
but from what I did see, I want one. Hope to have a better look in
Christchurch at Labour Weekend.
Thank you all (especially Ross in Hamilton for putting us up on Saturday
night) for being typical very friendly MX5 owners and making us welcome.
Caryl and Grant, the good looking one in the passenger seat and the fluffy
one in the drivers seat on TV1's report, Sunday night.

The ones you want are the "moss" low profile
headlights. they use proper Hella units which are
compliant not like the BSP ones which use lights from
a motorcycle and they dip the wrong way. The moss ones
dip the right way. they can be had from here:
http://www.mx5mania.com/exterior.htm
but at AU$850 they arent cheap!!
But dont forget that this price includes totally
re-made buckets for the quad lights to sit in, also as
you cant modify the stock buckets to fit the quad
round lights.
id get the opinion of a certifier before buying them
as you dont want any nasty tickets from a cop with a
low quota for the day!!

I'm using a ACT HD (?) pressure plate with a kevlar disc from
Autoclutch, the club sponsors. Cost was $900-ish (no discount for
"performance" parts ??? boo...) and it's holding 200-ish hp without a
sweat.
Suspect the same result could be had by using stock disc, stock
pressure plate with mods to increase pressure - a new 1800 clutch will
hold ~180hp. Rumour has it the ACT discs are the OEM ones, and the
pressure plate is a modified stock one as well (but painted yellow!)
I can give you a contact in the States who could ship you something
for a good price - he's on the powerlist.

rather cloudy today.

Can anyone recommend a good outlet selling ACT clutches?

HTH.
