We would be keen as long as we can afford the ferry ticket (anyone want to
sponsor us? Hint hint Mazda) and our MX5 is actually fixed by then!

I finally got my MX5 back today after suffering withdrawal symptoms for
about six weeks! Anyway I have six weeks worth of driving to catch up on so
will definitely be coming to Auckland for this attempt. To hell with the
costs, it seems like a good fun idea to participate (and meet some of you
interesting people).
Caryl and I intend traveling to Hamilton on the Saturday and hopefully
joining up with anyone leaving from Hamilton on the Sunday morning.
Otherwise we might get lost finding our way around Auckland.
I assume a number of you from Hamilton will be attending of course.

Hey, count me in!
Anybody from the Tauranga crowd going? And would you care to tell me where
you're assembling to head off to Auckland?

Cheers
Nina

Grant, it will be good to meet up with you. You were most helpful when my
sister Julie got the yellow '91. (I have a '98 NB6C, colour 12K)

Nina, that line about John is the second best thing I've seen all day. Give me
your email and I'll send you the first.

Hi Chris,

given your situation and goals it sounds like the e-manage or
turbo2link setup might be best for you.

As mentioned a standalone really makes you work hard for the little
details (starting, idling, cruising, decent economy, general
driveability etc) which you otherwise take for granted with a factory
ECU ! Of course this stuff doesn't matter for race cars where you
generally have your foot hard on either pedal.

The other thing is support - you either need superb internet resources
and a willingness to dive in yourself, or a friendly local tuner
(preferably more than one).

Pete- your setup sounds like mine - a max'd out GTX turbo. Pretty
frisky innit? :D

This might be useful also:

If you go the Emanage route buy from here:
http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/index.html
I ordered mine on a friday night and it was on my
doorstep from the states on tuesday morning...Thats
service!
Youll need the Emanage main unit, The "support
tool"software and an ignition harness.
Do not buy the pressure sensor or injection harness
as they are overpriced and not needed.
You can run 330ccGTX injectors or 365cc toyota
4agze injectors without the need for an extra pressure
regulator up to about 8 psi for the 330's and 10psi on
the 365's.(just!)
440cc's are too big to run with a piggyback as they
cant get enough fuel out for a good idle.
