roll cage

Post by ianbell » Fri Aug 26, 2005 7:58 pm

Hi Everyone
I am interested in fitting a roll cage in my MX5 and need to talk to a
certifier about the details and cert costs etc. Do we know anyone (preferably
friendly) who does this?
Regards, Ian Bell, CHN433

Hi Ian

Have a look at Section 8 of Schedule A Part 1 of the Motorsport NZ
regulations (http://www.motorsport.org.nz/Regs/regul ... m#Manual32) .
Then talk to a MSNZ Technical Officer. They should be able to point you in
the right direction for your region.

Cheers

Give Leon Cast at motorsport nz head ofice a call. ph number should be on
their web page.

Leon is excellent and can let you know about a roll cage, who in your area
can cert it, or even build and install it. He knows about the mx5, and can
let you know all the paper work costs etc.

I think he is the guy who looks after roll over protection stuff for msnz.

he can also let you know about other stuff that you need if you are going to
drive on the road with a cage (like you need to have full harness belts, so
will need an auth card another $50)

There are 4 of us regually racing in the lower north island, 3 have full
cages and I have the rear section. 2 of the cars are driven to the track.
