Just a thought ,... ( happens sometimes ... )
Have a look at some universal " Rack and Pinion boots " (BNT -REPCO etc )
, it might fit (??? ) ... and they cost only a couple of dollars .

When we put Konis in our MX5 the covers needed replacing. There was a lot of
discussion on the list at the time as a group order for the Konis had been
done. We bought the universal covers from Repco and secured them top and
bottom with a cable tie right round the shock. Not flash, but it does the
trick. We left the old bump-stops in. The discussion on the list was to how
important the bump-stops were and whether you needed them, I think. Maybe
it's time to resurrect this debate ... or maybe you'd be better getting all
the original opinions from the archives...!
If using spring compressors, you need the set of two that go outside the
springs, not the one that goes up the inside of the spring. Or you could tie
the spring with wire when compressed on the car, and just make damn sure it
doesn't come un-done when it's sitting on the garage floor aimed at a) the
MX5, or b) your head!
Have fun!
