Hi,
I have mounted my spare wheel under the boot floor. I did this 3 years ago in
the search for more space and a happier partner.
I have done it quite differently than has been described before. A purpose
built bracket and large reinforcing plates make for a very strong design.
I live in Wellington if anyone wishes to look.
The luggage rack that Mazda supply does nothing for me. It mounts to the boot
lid and is permanent. This makes polishing etc harder and ruins the lines of
the car considerably. The rack really needs to be removable.
I have seen luggage bags advertised, with some sort of cushion and strapping
to mount to the bootlid.
The one in CH Ch sounds interesting.
Cheers
Colin

Hi,
That is a very liberal interpretation of what I said. Ok then I'll do it.
I will have finished tripping away by Dec 9th so look for it shortly after.

if you can supply some details on the design and parts used it would be most
appreciated. I presume you had to reallign the exhaust and replace the muffler.

photos/details to me for the web site/club mag. wasn't that what you said

(he also notes that he has owned the car from 1995 and have covered 85000 kms
without any punctures..!)
