Hi,
What is the best product to use to bring tan leather seats back to life?
Thanks

Dave,
I've tried a lot of products to do this. The seats I was cleaning came from
a wrecked MX5 and they were really dirty ,more brown than tan. Have a look
at the featured MX5 on the club web site. There are close-up photo's of
before and after the cleaning.
I tried saddle soap, leather cleaner, tramping boot cleaner etc and nothing
really cleaned the dirt off. The only thing that worked was methylated
spirits and even then it took me about 10 hours to clean the seats properly.
The methylated spirits is probably not good for the leather, so I couldn't
recommend that you use it, but I'm glad I did, because the seats look great
now, almost like new. If your seats aren't as bad you might get away with
just using Meguires Leather cleaner and conditioner.
A couple of weeks after I'd cleaned the seats, I was round at Al Upholstery
and he had a product that he said would have been better, but I can't
remember what it was called. It might be worth calling him to find out what
it was.
Cheers
Chic
