Oiii !!!, whats this discrimination against pre-91's. Apart from the occasional dodgy crankshaft theres nothing wrong with a lovely 89 or 90 (90 is a particulary fine vintage with fine body with underlying flavours of burn't rubber and Castrol GTX).

I concur... I know plenty of pre '91s that give their owners no trouble
at all!!! (grin)

Has anyone contacted the human rights commission ??? Sure they would be
interested in this. Im against discrimination in all forms. I'd buy a
pre 91, in fact I've got $50 bucks on me now !!!

Just kidding

cheers

Uh Oh... well, I'd better change my tune then... particularly if your
budget is down around $8000 I'd say any MX-5 from 89 or 90 would meet your
requirements. Odometer reading is not that important, just make sure it has
had its cambelt done, doesn't blow blue smoke, and the body and underside
are straight.

I agree totally. My 1990 bought in August with 127,000 on the clock runs like a little clock! (No, it wasn't bought on tick!) Cost abt $1700 to do belts, brakes, filters and fluids and new set of "Monza" tyres but I think anyone should budget for that sort of work anyway unless it has just been done. if it has then you are obviously going to pay more than $8000 +/- anyway. Up the 90's etc. In the nicest possible way of course.
