As part of my car's rebuild I sent the replacement rear suspension components
out to be cleaned up and powder-coated. I included the standard Mazda
springs... today I had a call from the powdercoating company to say that they
had put the springs in an acid bath to remove the old coating, and in their
words "the springs delaminated". They do a lot of automotive work and
apparently have never seen springs do this before!
