car swap

Post by J & H Fletcher » Thu Mar 29, 2001 12:34 pm

This is a long shot, because I know that most MX5 owners would find the idea
of trading a perfectly good mx5 for a family car abhorrent. However, I
will play the long shot and ask you to circulate this among the subscribers.
I have a very nice 1994 Ford Falcon Futura Classic which I purchased as a
second owner from West Auckland Ford in April 1996; and would very much like
to trade it for a manual, red MX5 of comparable or greater value. I am
prepared to put some money with the Falcon if the MX5 is of slightly higher
market value.
The Falcon has been professionally maintained since new, and I have the
receipts to prove eit. It has never been pranged and is in excellent
condition both mechanically and cosmetically. Here's a few specs.
Colour:Arctic white. 117,000km, 4 litre, auto, a/c,power steering, ABS,
cruise control, tow bar, factory alloys (5), near new Dunlop Le Mans A5
directional tyres,(+ new spare). When I purchased the car, I personally
removed as many panels as possible and sprayed the cavities with fisholene,
so there is no incipient rust on the car. It has been garaged and lovingly
maintained and I am confident that it will continue to deliverbe trouble
free motoring to the next owner. Despite it's size and engine displacement,
judicious use of the accerator will deliver up to 26mpg on the open road, so
it's not bad on fuel. On the long hauls it is more economical that the
3litre Mazda MPV that replaced it as the family wagon.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
