Car Covers - any thoughts?

Post by zorruno » Fri Feb 23, 2001 12:20 pm

I am unfortunately having to keep Zorruno outside for a while. Any thoughts
on carcovers and where to buy? I want a good quality one, preferably
tailored to MX-5, & pref washable. I don't need one today, so don't mind
waiting to have one delivered.

what say ye oh wisdom of list subscribers?

Car Covers - any thoughts?

Post by mx-5 » Fri Feb 23, 2001 4:42 pm

Hi zorruno

I bought some semi-cheapies from Repco to protect my seats from the sun till I
had the tints put on. They don't fit too badly (not perfect, but they do the
job). Depends if you want really flash ones I guess. They have all sorts
there from sheepskin (not cheap) to loonytoons (cheapies). The hardest part
is if they have ties is to get the one under the seat .. not much room there
for hands. Other place I would suggest is your local rally car seat maker or
somewhere like that .. they could probably knock something up for you to
perfect dimensions :)

Car Covers - any thoughts?

zorruno
I have a Moss Motors Technalon car cover, these are multi layered, waterproof and
breathable Rotary Power bought some in several years ago and i know he still has
one because he uses it on MX5's when he's doing the turbo/supercharger installations,
they are excellent quality have pockets for the mirrors, elastic sewn into the hems
and eyes halfway along to lock a cable to, now i know Glenn would sell it and if
you are interested tell him i recomended you and as its been used its now second
hand, he gives club members a discount anyway, they were $119US, not cheap but you
wont find a better quality car cover, it's not a spoiler version but i get mine on
my red MX5 with the spoiler and Racing Beat bumpers, its just a tight fit on the
door mirrors, i cant remember if your car has a spoiler zorruno.
Hope this is of help

Ray :-)
