Soft tops ... unzip or not to unzip????

those back windows are so sensitive ... i had some condensation on mine one
time and someone ran their finger over the window to clear it for me (as you
do) and just from that light touch i now have little wee scratch marks up
and down the window. and another time (not long after i bought the car) a
petrol station attendant thought he was being very helpful and cleaned the
window for me (i didn't notice until it was too late!). i also have
horizontal scratches along the window from that now.

my mother owns an mx5 too and doesn't always unzip the window and she has
this lovely scratch line about 1/3 from the bottom.

you can probably guess, i'm one of the people that unzip every time. i also
use towels either side (thanx al's upholstery for the tip).
