Bits & Pieces
Does anyone know if there is a place that sells bits and pieces in New
Zealand like you see in the Miata magazine, but without the words Miata all
over them.
For example the storage pocket that attaches underneath the boot lid or the
storage pocket that sits inbetween the seats. They look very handy, but I'd
like to get them without Miata all over it.
Thanks in advance
Tj
PS does anyone have any tips for washing an MX5 without having a hose? It's
making life very difficult & my baby very dirty.

dunno the answer to the first part sorry, but I posted the idea a few days
ago of using a garden sprayer (hand pumped) bottle full of water. The idea
was posted on the UK list a few days ago, and now someone else mentioned it
on the US list in the last few days. I deleted their messages, but they
will be in the archives for those lists at egroups and miata.net
respectively.

TJ,
Easiest solution - swap your MX-5 or Roadster badge for a Miata one, then
the US sourced stuff will look like it belongs. I've just struck a deal with
a guy in the US who wants to swap an MX-5 badge for a Miata one.

Thanks for the idea Gary, but it would mean I would have to change more than
the badge wouldn't it? ... all the roadster stuff would need to be changed too
I imagine, as all the same things are available with Miata on it eg. metal kick
plates, floor mats etc

better still - change the badge to Honda Type R - then you'll be able to buy
all manner of 3ft high wing spoilers, 'Powered By' stickers, body kits etc
that will match

Even easier - just paint "Type R" next to the rear MX-5 / Roadster whatever
badge. Should shave a few seconds off the 0-100 time.

ok .. here's another q for you. I had the car yard that sold my baby to me
1 1/2 years ago ring me today wanting to know how everything was going &
that he had a lady that might be interested in buying it. I said I'd
consider it but I wanted a newer one ... any tips on what I should be
looking for and what kind of price I should be paying? I'm not I even want
to part with my wee sweetie ... but I have to admit it's looking tired.

TJ,
1/ They're just trying to make a sale! And money out of you!
2/ Have a look on the NZ Club web site at car ads over the last 12 months or
so... you can ask it to show you current plus expired ads... there's a good
benchmark on price for you there.
Regards
Gary
