WANTED URGENTLY


Second-hand or cheap new- left hand headlight motor for a poor old 1990 model
that has a winking problem.

Any help, suggestions gratefully accepted

I've never heard of a winking problem before - I thought that was only an
mr2 specific problem?!

are you sure it can't be fixed without replacing the motor? what exactly
are the symptoms?

Thanks for your interest. The symptoms are as follows. When I turn the
lights off the left hand light continues to flick up and down. Of ten the
only way I could stop it was to flip the headlights up, as if I was going to
clean them. But just recently, even that won't stop it and I have had to
disconnect it. It is most disconcerting driving along a crowded motorway
and your light is winking at all and sundry.

I live in Whangarei and took it to an auto-electrician, who said the motor
was fine, and thought it was something in the sealed electronic controls
which sit on the motor, hence the need for a whole new motor at $450 plus
G.S.T.!

Do you have any ideas?
